Founded in 1980 to find foster families for children in the child welfare system, Lilliput Children’s Services has grown exponentially over the last thirty years with offices in ten counties and services offered throughout Northern California. Our mission is simple, yet powerful: We exist to ensure a child's opportunity for permanence in a safe and nurturing family. We offer a wide range of services to children and families who are impacted by foster care, adoption or kinship care. The foundation—and distinction—of our services lies in Lilliput’s focus on permanency. We strive to keep children who enter foster care, or are at risk of foster care placement, safely in the homes of their extended family while also recruiting foster/adoptive parents for children who do not have this option. Continuity of services through post adoption support is also offered in several locations.
Since its inception, Lilliput has completed more than 3,500 adoptions and has been instrumental in decreasing the length of time a child remains in foster care by providing adoptive homes and supporting kinship families.

Stanford Home for Children specializes in providing foster care for our community’s most vulnerable youth – those who have experienced acute trauma, separation from loved ones, and other losses. This specialty is called Intensive Treatment Foster Care. Through comprehensive support and one-on-one attention, these foster youth are given the opportunity to succeed in a family home. With the guidance of experienced foster parents, they learn how to become productive members of a family, and they will use these skills for the rest of their lives.
